As in past years, iSGTW will be on break for two weeks - until the 12 January 2011 - for our winter holidays. Unlike past holiday seasons, however, when we return from this one it will be as The Digital Scientist.

Since Science Grid This Week (iSGTW's first incarnation) launched in April 2005, the team behind it has produced 277 issues featuring quality content about distributed computing and the science it supports.

We thought that our transition to The Digital Scientist was a good opportunity to look back at our most popular articles for 2010 and for all time.

Top ten features for all time:

  1. SimCity, social engineering and 60 million "people"
  2. John Shalf talks parallel programming languages
  3. Opinion - Challenges to exascale computing
  4. Finance sector goes for grids
  5. Secure enough? Re-assessment of the world's most-used hash function
  6. Opinion - Reaching for the exascale with volunteer computing
  7. Widening the gateway to India
  8. Identifying network bottlenecks
  9. The Lost Sounds Orchestra
  10. Unlocking secrets of the heart

We’re confident that these articles will give you something to enjoy should you be at a loss for activities while we are on hiatus.

Happy holidays, and look for us at The Digital Scientist in the new year!

Best wishes,
