Bag-of-Tasks applications - applications that execute independent parallel tasks. Often also referred to as embarrassingly parallel or pleasantly parallel.

Bag-of-Tasks applications are suitable for execution on a computational grid or even a volunteer computing infrastructure such as BOINC.

Elasticity - the ability of a cloud to expand and contract in size to meet the current computational demand.

Cloudburst - 1. the elastic expansion of a private cloud, adding instances in a public cloud to meet peak demand. 2. the failure of a cloud to handle peak demand.
