The CHAIN Kick-Off Meeting is organized for the 13 and 14 of December 2010 in Rome.

The CHAIN project aims to coordinate efforts made over the past six years to extend the European e-Infrastructure (and particularly Grid) operational and organizational principles to a number of regions in the world. CHAIN’s vision is of a harmonized and optimized interaction model for e-Infrastructure and specifically Grid interfaces between Europe and the rest of the world.

The project will create a strategy and define the instruments in order to ensure coordination and cooperation of the European Grid Infrastructure with emerging world regions such as Asia, Latin America and Sub-Saharan Africa).

The CHAIN project will ensure global coverage, European leadership, and efficient leveraging of results with respect to regional specific projects.
