There’s eHealth, eGovernment, and now eLearning.

Defined by one source as ‘the use of new multimedia technologies and the internet to improve the quality of learning . . . ’ it could become an integral part of education, in everything from vocational training to higher education.

Where do grids fit in?

The processing power and storage space of many learning devices could be accessed, allowing for an eLearning approach to tasks such as medical image processing — which requires vast amounts of computing power. Sharing resources would also aid mobile learning, where learners use portable devices with limited memory and processing.
