The UNICORE grid technology provides a seamless, secure and intuitive access to distributed grid resources. UNICORE is a full-grown and well-tested grid middleware system, which today is used in daily production worldwide. Beyond this production usage, the UNICORE technology serves as a solid basis in many European and international projects. In order to foster these ongoing developments, UNICORE is available as open source under BSD licence.

The UNICORE Summit is a unique opportunity for grid users, developers, administrators, researchers, and service providers to get an inside view of UNICORE, share experiences, and discuss future developments.

Topics of interest for the UNICORE Summit should be related to UNICORE and include but are not limited to:

  • Grid applications
  • End user experiences
  • Service-oriented designs adopting grid and Web standards
  • Grid scheduling, resource management and brokering
  • Theoretical models and algorithms
  • Reliability, fault-tolerance, and autonomy
  • Interoperability
  • Security
  • Performance evaluation
  • Architecture extensions and new components
  • Scientific and economic scenarios
  • Business models and service provisioning
  • Tools and environments for development, deployment and configuration
  • Cloud and virtualisation
  • Data management, access, transfer, control and governance
