Registration for the 5th High-Performance Grid Computing Workshop, to be held 14 April 2008 in Miami, Florida, U.S. in conjunction with the 22nd IEEE International Parallel and Distributed Processing Symposium, held 14-18 April 2008, are now open.

Registration for IPDPS 2008 automatically includes registration for the High Performance Grid Computing workshop. In addition to the HPGC workshop, IPDPS includes technical sessions of submitted paper presentations, multiple workshops, tutorials, and commercial presentations and exhibits.

24 March is the deadline for advance registration.

Focused on grids

The HPGC workshop provides a forum for researchers from academia and industry to present their latest results in the theory and practice of grid computing, and topics to be covered will include:

  • Resource allocation: computation offloading, network resource mapping, peer-to-peer MPI, service replication
  • Grid algorithms: experimental validation, execution time estimation
  • Middleware: monitoring, self-adapting, information quality.
  • Infrastructure: case studies

Two grid researchers will also present invited papers:

  1. Experimental validation of grid algorithms: a comparison of methodologies.
    Emmanuel Jeannot, Loria INRIA-Lorraine, France.
  2. Using Bandwidth Data to make Computational Off-loading Decisions.
Rich Wolski, University of California, Santa Barbara.
Advance programs for both the HPGC workshop and IPDPS 2008 are available online.
