In a recent project, artist-in-residence at the Niels Bohr Institute, Mette Høst, created posters for the NBI’s individual research groups. Høst worked with each group to find an image and equation that captures the heart of the group’s research with beauty and elegance.

Høst, created the image at the right for the Theoretical Particle Phyisics and Cosmology group, expressing a visualization of the warping of space-time.

The research of the Theoretical Particle Phyisics and Cosmology group centers around quantum theories of gauge fields, gravity and astrophysics. Areas of specialization include the Standard Model, quantum chromodynamics, lattice simulations, cosmology, physics of cosmic microwave background, black holes, matrix theory and string theory.

More information about the Theoretical Particle Physics and Cosmology group is available online. Learn more about Mette Høst at her Web site (in Danish).
